Desolation Sound – This is the largest and perhaps best known marine park in British Columbia. Many boaters consider it to be the one of the top three cruising grounds in the world, along with Fiji and New Zealand's Bay of Islands. With calm, sheltered waters and many protected anchorages, the park consists of more than 6,350 acres of shoreline and water, filled with oysters, clams, prawns and salmon. There are also four scenic lakes on shore and one waterfall as well as swimming in Pendrell Sound – the warmest salt water north of Mexico (28 degrees Celsius!).
